Sujit is a Chartered Accountant practicing primarily in the fields of Direct Taxation, Company Law and other regulatory laws and has practiced in these fields for more than several years. He represents clients before various High Courts in India as well as the Supreme Court of India. He has been giving clients legal opinions on a wide range of issues like taxability of receipts, applicability of Indian tax laws, positions under India’s Double Tax Avoidance Agreements with other countries, applicability of withholding tax provisions. Clients were provided with complete solutions, from analysis of basic issues, possible legal positions and the correct course of action.
His dedicated clients include Pharmaceutical, Ayurvedic, Trust/ NGO, Stock Broker, Manpower, Software Developer, Real Estate before the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal and various High Courts across India as also the Authority for Advance Rulings and the Supreme Court of India. Orders pronounced by lower authorities were analyzed and viable options suggested to clients.
He has also worked with one of the premier accounting firms in the world. During his tenure at firm he has advised clients on international tax issues involving interpretation of Double Tax Avoidance Treaties, foreign exchange and foreign investment laws. He has also advised clients on available entity structures for inbound and outbound investments, advantages and disadvantages of each structure and the most efficient structure from a tax point of view.
His clients also include a large CRS company incorporated in Netherlands, in addition to oil exploration and drilling companies.
